agriculture/agri-business and natural resources programs offered at
the postsecondary technical schools in South Dakota. The PAS motto
is "Uniting Education and Industry in Agriculture."
Rodeo Club
MTI sponsors an organized Rodeo Club which travels to area college
rodeos in both fall and spring. Members are responsible for their
own horses, equipment, travel, and entry fees when competing. Click here to visit the rodeo club web site for further information.
Skills USA
SkillsUSA (formerly VICA) offers leadership, citizenship, and character
development to students enrolled in trade, technical, and health occupation
programs in the technical schools in South Dakota. SkillsUSA emphasizes
respect for the dignity of work, high standards in trade ethics, workmanship,
scholarship, and safety. Several MTI students have won or placed at
the national SkillsUSA championships held each June in Kansas City,
MO.
Student Representative Board
The Student Representative Board (SRB) is the voice of the student
body at MTI. An annual plan of work and activities is developed by
this group. Students apply to serve on this board. First year students
who are selected may opt to serve a second year. A student body president
serves as leader of the SRB group. The president is elected at-large
by the entire student body in the spring of each year. MTI staff members
serve as advisors to the SRB.
